Will your medication costs be paid for?
Any medication needs to be medically necessary or prescribed by a doctor. You will receive your medication by taking the prescription to a pharmacy. The original prescription can then be submitted to us for a refund of the costs.
The policy does not cover medication that can be bought at a pharmacy for free and without a doctor’s prescription. Please note that we can only process a prescription after receiving the related (doctor’s) invoice along with the diagnosis.
What can you do when you find out the embassy rejected your visa?
The German embassy will send you a letter to let you know why your Visa got rejected. When you get the letter, make sure you write down all the reasons of rejection and then make an appeal!
What is the purpose of having a blocked account?
With a German blocked account you can prove your ability to support yourself during your stay in Germany. The account will be blocked until you arrive in Germany. Once you have access to the account, a restriction applies: There is a limitation on the amount that can be withdrawn or transferred per month unless you have paid in more than the demanded minimum blocked amount. In the latter case, higher monthly withdrawals can be agreed.
In general, you need to deposit €800 for each month you plan to spend in Germany. This means you have to deposit a minimum sum of €10,000 if you want to spend one year in Germany. However, you do not have to worry about these details now. All relevant questions will be clarified during the online opening of your new blocked account.

What does exemption from compulsory health insurance mean?
You can get an exemption from the requirement to take out public health insurance and conclude private health insurance at the official beginning of your subject-related studies. However, taking out private health insurance only makes sense for students who cannot conclude public student health insurance, e.g. if you are more than 29 years old. In these cases, we recommend EDUCARE24 XL insurance protection.
Please note that the following applies after the official beginning of your studies: Once you have taken out private health insurance, you cannot switch to public student health insurance anymore.

Insurance starts on the date applied for. Insurance coverage starts on the same date, at the earliest on the day we receive your application at our office (0:00 am).
Insurance coverage expires automatically on the agreed date.
