What should you as a student know about the health insurance?

Information for students and doctoral students – Check your insurance cover! The insurance offers of many programs and universities are suitable and you do not need to do anything else. However, sometimes the insurance cover is not as you are used to in your home country. Therefore, you should take your time before you leave and check the insurance offered. Sometimes it can be useful to take out PROTRIP-WORLD in addition to a compulsory insurance of the university or the country of travel. What is the 3-D secure procedure?

If you pay by credit card, we use the 3-D Secure procedure. It provides additional security for your credit card transactions and reduces the risk of fraud due to card misuse. You first enter your credit card number. A connection will then be established with the card issuer so that you can confirm your identity, for example by entering a code. If the authentication was successful, the credit card payment is executed. The 3-D Secure procedure should not be confused with your credit card’s check number (CVC). In order to use the 3-D Secure procedure, you must register with your bank/credit company, which usually takes a few days.

In case of an officially ordered deportation of the visitor, the insurance policy covers the incurring costs up to €4,000 if claims are made against the host. Will the German Student Insurance cover the expenses of a booked flight which you’re not able to cancel?
