What is the TK public health insurance?

Students from abroad need to have proof of public health insurance when enrolling at a German university. We recommend the student insurance of Techniker Krankenkasse, which meets all official requirements for obtaining a visa.

Will you be covered if you are infected on your way home?

Upon arrival to your home country, both EDUCARE24 and Techniker Krankenkasse (TK) insurance coverage ends. Please contact your last insurance company in your home country to reactivate it immediately.

Why is there a safety buffer of 100 euros?

The safety buffer will be used to pay transfer charges in case we need to refund money. If there are no extra costs, the money will be refunded to you when you close your blocked account.

Which documents will you receive?

Following your application, you will immediately receive an email with your insurance certificate along with customer information and the “Ärzte-Info-Ticket” (medical info card). Additionally, we will send you an insurance card for your wallet within the next few days.

Will my current health insurance be sufficient for my studies in Germany?

For students from non-European countries the answer is “no”. If you come from a non-European country, taking out a German health insurance is required by law. Without a German health insurance you will not get a visa and cannot enroll at a German university. For students from Europe the requirements are not that strict. However, we recommend you seek advice from your health insurance provider.

You want to take part in sports activities offered by your high school or university or you like skiing, hiking, cycling or water skiing? With PROTRIP-WORLD, all these activities are insured.
