What should you do in the even of an illness?
Primary care physicians are responsible for diagnosis and therapy and coordinate the need for further treatment. This includes assessing if they are able to carry out the treatment themselves or if it is necessary to consult a specialist.
This makes it easier to coordinate therapies and to avoid that examinations are carried out twice. It furthermore helps to avoid incompatible therapies, interlink medical benefits and reduce costs. This recommendation does, of course, not apply to necessary visits of gynecologists, eye specialists, emergency physicians or doctors on call.

What is some information you should know as a volunteer?
Information for volunteers – The PROTRIP-WORLD insurance for volunteers adapts to your travel plans.
You have the choice between different travel regions and you can also flexibly choose the scope of insurance: PROTRIP-WORLD always includes a strong international health insurance. We especially recommend volunteers to supplement their insurance cover with the Comfort or Plus Package to be able to travel and work without worries.
The two packages differ in the scope of the liability insurance. The Plus Package includes a higher basic insurance sum and covers, for example, the risk of losing your keys and damages arising from an act of favor (e.g. at a garden party of another volunteer, you are asked to carry chairs from the flat into the garden, breaking the glass pane in the process).
What is the percentage of foreign tourists that had their visas accepted?
Almost 80% of the applicants who applied, got their German Visa. There were around 2 and a half million applicants, therefore 241 thousand applications were rejected. Even though they were rejected, with the right documents they would have had their Visas issued as well!
Why can you only conclude EDUCARE24 at the age of 30+?
Students who are enrolled at state or state-recognized universities are subject to public insurance until their 30th birthday. From the 30th birthday, students can no longer insure themselves in the public student health insurance. In these cases, we recommend EDUCARE24 XL, our comprehensive cover consisting of travel health insurance, accident insurance, personal liability insurance and deportation costs insurance.
What does the German student insurance consist of?
Finding the right insurance in Germany as a foreign student is not quite easy if one does not know about all the German and European requirements and laws. This is why we developed the GERMAN STUDENT INSURANCE. Here you will get comprehensive health insurance protection which is tailored to your needs and valid for the complete duration of your stay in Germany, before and during your studies. You can get private or public health insurance or a combination of both, if needed.
Will my current health insurance be sufficient for my studies in Germany?
For students from non-European countries the answer is “no”. If you come from a non-European country, taking out a German health insurance is required by law. Without a German health insurance you will not get a visa and cannot enroll at a German university.
For students from Europe the requirements are not that strict. However, we recommend you seek advice from your health insurance provider.
What are international tourists offered by Germany?
Besides Germany offering many studying and job opportunities, it offers tourists breath-taking sceneries, wonderful food, exciting nightlife, warm hospitality and lively festivals. It’s a great place to apply for a Visa, specifically for non-EU individuals who want to either visit a new place or study/work in a country with reasonable prices.
