What can you do in the event of an illness?
Free Travel Health Insurance offers you, among other things, cover for acute, unexpected illness or injury.
If you are ill, first consult a general practitioner or, in the case of toothache, a dentist before going to a specialist or hospital. If possible, please present the doctor with the Ärzte-Info-Ticket (medical info card) prior to any treatment. The card contains information about the type of billing as well as important details regarding your insurance coverage. Doctors can settle their bills directly with us. If the doctor sends the invoice to DR-WALTER, we will transfer the invoice amount directly to the doctor’s account.

Students from abroad need to have proof of public health insurance when enrolling at a German university. We recommend the student insurance of Techniker Krankenkasse, which meets all official requirements for obtaining a visa.
“Deductible” means that the insured person is obliged to cover a part of the treatment expenses. For example, a “deductible of €25 per insured event” means that you have to pay €25 of the medical bill yourself in each case of illness.

In principle, insurance cover also exists for a certain period of time in case of interruption of the stay abroad. Due to the development of COVID-19, you cannot estimate how long your stay in your home country will last. Therefore, we recommend that you cancel your EDUCARE24 insurance immediately after entering your home country. Please inform us about this. An e-mail is sufficient. We will then calculate your exact premium depending on the number of days you stayed abroad. You will only pay the premiums that have accrued until the receipt of your notification.
